Kreoliciouz: Yung Berg has hit the
scene with his hit single “Sexy Lady”
tearing up the charts and as he
ventured back to his home town of
Chicago, he graced the one and only
Kreoliciouz with an exclusive interview,
but not before telling us how me,
Malynda, and the squad acts when we
hit the night scene not speaking to
anyone. He referred to us as the
Wreckin Crew, as we went from club to
club with him and his entourage where
he said he has no problem with the
ladies starring at him I the club, but its
uncomfortable when guys stare at him
all night like he’s not a regular person.
But this is crazy because we just went
to bed, and then we get the call that
you are around the corner on your way
to the house, so you get to be up close
and personal wit me and my girls, as
we get up close and personal with you.
Yung Berg: It’s definitely proper attire
for anyone that wants to know. (laughs)
KA: How does it feel to be Young Berg
right now?
YB: It feels good. I’m from this area
(Chicago), and I left Chicago at the
age of 15 trying to get it poppin. I got
signed to DMX and I was on the road. I
wasn’t really raised in the streets. I was
around street niggas all the time but
music really raised me. I ain’t afraid to
say that, I ain’t one of these dudes that’
s go tell you I’m this or I’m that, I’m just
a regular dude and just letting people
know that dreams do come true.
KA: So you’re out in Los Angeles doing
big things with your song being #1 on
the charts. How does that feel just
coming on the scene the way you did
blazin?
YB: I always been doing my thing, and
God blessed me. We did “Sexy Lady”
in the back of my managers crib on a
bullshit microphone and we laid that
shit, took it to the radio in LA, and it
started getting spins, spreading
everywhere and that’s how I got my
label deal. If you really want to do your
shit and get out here, then you got to
stay focused and pay your dues and
eventually it will pay off. I was one of
those cats back in grammar school
that was trying to rap and now it has
paid off, even when people told me I
was on bull shit. God works in
mysterious ways.
KA: Now I’m not from Chicago but I
wanted to touch on how you’re from
Chicago and others say its hard to
break out of this city...
YB: Hold on, where you from?
KA: I’m from New Orleans by way of
Seattle.
YB: What? I knew it was some creole in
your ass. (laughs)
KA: That’s me, Kreoliciouz! …But you
are doing it.
YB: It’s fa sho hard! You really got to
have the mentality that you about to
get the fuck up out of here and really
make it happen. I ain’t never go front, I
have slept on floors and done all type
of unimaginable shit to be right here.
You just really have to keep pressing
because if you don’t then you fucked.
KA: What’s next, what can we can
expect from you? We see you on DJ
Sean Mac’s mixtape with Twista.
YB: Shout out to Twista, Rawle, that
shit was hot, it’s also on the album.
Right now its all about management
and handling out management
contracts. Like I love women so much
that I just need 20% of you cause it’s
no guarantee that I will be around and
be able to provide the way I need to
provide for you, so its all about
managing and getting you to the next
level. Like all these dues who want to
get up in you and just have sex with
you, we don’t want to do that, we want
to manage you and help you get to the
next level. If we cant grow together, we
can’t go together.
KA: So speaking of women, who are
you currently dating?
YB: (laughs) No Comment
KA: No comment? She from Chicago?
YB: (laughs) Who is she?
KA: Sources say Drew Sidora and
everyone saw the video, so of course
people assume and put 2 and 2
together, so you can touch on that if
like?
YB: Drew is a lovely young lady but we
are good friends and that’s it. We did
the video, and she will probably be in
the next video just cause I like to keep
the same things going. If they like it,
they like it and I’m with it.
KA: How is it living out in LA compared
to Chicago?
YB: Its way better, get the fuck out the
crib! (laughs) Come back to the crib,
show your love and get the fuck out
this bitch. You got to go where money
is at. They say if you hang around 9
broke niggas, then you go be the 10th
one. So if you hang around 9 rich
niggas, something go rub. Ain’t nothing
but Benz, Bentley’s, Bitches, and
Blunts out there so come holla at me
cuz I’m out there. But I’m going to
Atlanta and that may be my new home,
I’m bouncing back and forth, we go a
spot out there.
KA: As for working with people in the
future, I don’t know everyone who is on
the album, but if you can let us know
who you collaborated with as well?
YB: Everybody is on the album, Rich
Boy, Jim Jones, DJ Khaled, Twista,
Fabolous, Shawnna, Ray J, Eve.
KA: How does it feel working with all of
them as a new artists? Doing big
things, and here to stay.
YB: I feel real good, its showing people
from Chicago that dreams do come
true and that’s what I be trying to
preach. Everybody feel like you can’t
make it out of here and there’s no way
for a Chicago artists to get on and I’m
just living proof that there is a way to
do it.
KA: You also stay connected with your
fans. My readers can’t see what just
went on, but when you came to the
house, we thought you came incognito,
but all the girls from the neighborhood
learned you were here and came
knocking on the door and you went out
there and spoke to them. Also
yesterday you all were at Ford City
Mall and yall had were chase out the
mall. You like it?
YB: It was like 100 girls at the mall. I
love it, that’s why I am back in the city. I
haven’t been to the city in a minute but
I’m back and that’s what’s up. I’m going
everywhere.
KA: Now you and my girl Malynda have
been cool for a while and go way back,
and she say you a mess.
YB: She know everything about me,
she don’t have to google me, she know
the government and all. But I want to
go back to what were people saying
about me and Drew?
KA: (laughs) Why we back on that?
The new issue of Hip Hop weekly along
with other sources name you the
newest Hollywood couple.
YB: I have been hearing that for the
past few days. Ain’t that some shyt. We
out on that note! (laughs)
KA: (laughs) That’s what we on Berg?
We was on your career!
YB: Well know one thing, as long as
you here with your Kre sunglasses and
I come to Chicago, you can get
anything from me, okay? Give me hug!
KA: There we have it with Yung Berg.
This interview was censored to protect
the innocent. (laughs)
